Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Ünye Port, which Mehmet Hilmi Güler is trying to become one of the leading ports of the Black Sea, is getting active day by day. The filling works of Ünye Port, which started to make a name for itself with Ro-Ro maritime transportation, container import-export and cruise sea tourism with the work of President Güler, continue uninterruptedly to increase the water depth and the number of berths.
While 350 decares of the 80 decare area, where 48 thousand cubic meters of filling material will be transported, will be completed, the remaining 32 decares are expected to be completed within 5 months. On the one hand, while the filling works continue, on the other hand, works on 400 quays with a length of 3 meters and a sea depth of 10 meters with bored piles will be started.
When all the works in the area are completed, the port of Unye will be able to have 40 berths serving ships of 5 thousand gross tonnage. With the increase in the number of berths, the number of cruise ships anchoring in the port will increase. In addition, Ro-Ro ships, container ships and general cargo ships will be able to dock at the port at the same time without waiting in the open.
As a result of the efforts of the Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, Ünye Port, which was published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and declared a Free Zone, gaining momentum by combining with strategic routes such as the Black Sea-Mediterranean and Ünye-Akkuş-Niksar road is important for both the provincial economy and the regional economy. it is aimed to be in a position to give direction to the extent possible.
