ANKA SİHA Export to Malaysia! TAI Won the Tender Participated by the USA and China

Turkish Aerospace Industries signed yet another international agreement on the ANKA Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System, which it originally developed with domestic and national resources.

Turkish Aerospace Industries won the tender held by the Malaysian Air Force for the importation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) in 2020, in which companies from the USA, China and Italy also participated. Accordingly, TAI will produce the first three ANKAs, which is the first phase of the need for nine (9) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles equipped with different payloads for Malaysia, and will install the ground control systems related to it.

This year, the signing ceremony was held at the 16th International Maritime and Aviation LIMA fair, held at Mahsuri International Expo Center on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia. Ömer Cihad Vardan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Aerospace Industries, shared his views on the subject and said, “ANKA is a platform that has proven itself not only in our country but also in the world among UAV systems. It is not an easy task to have the capabilities Malaysia needs and to win the tender in which strong international companies participate. This year, we are taking firm steps towards the targets we set in exports. I wish that the agreement will be beneficial for the friendly country Malaysia and our country.'' He said.

ANKA UAV, which was developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries and made its first flight in 2010, offers superior performance tasks such as reconnaissance, surveillance, fixed-moving target detection and diagnostic identification with its integrated high-definition camera that can operate day and night, even in bad weather conditions. It can carry up to 17 kg of different ammunition and payloads under its wing, which has a span of 350 meters. ANKA, which has the ability to land, cruise and return fully autonomous, has a mission time of more than 30 hours and can fly at an altitude of 30.000 feet. With the ŞİMŞEK High Speed Target Aircraft System, integration of which has been completed on ANKA, which has performed over 170.000 hours of flight to date, the coordination of more than one system at the same time has been ensured.
