The lions named Sultan and Sudan, who were gifted to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his Sudan trip and lived in Gaziantep Wildlife Park, had quadruplet cubs.

During his visit to Sudan 4 years ago to make a series of visits, Sudan gave birth to 4 lions, two females and two males, who were presented to President Erdoğan by Sudanese President Ömer Hasan Al-Basiri and brought to the Natural Life Park of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality for his care. It was stated that the quadruplet puppies born as two females and two males and the mother were in good health.

THE NAMES OF THE LION PUP WILL BE DEFINED NATURAL LIFE PARK VISITORS

An introductory program was held in the Natural Life Park for the 1-and-a-half-month-old baby lions, who are under constant surveillance and taken care of by their mothers. In the program, the baby lions met people together with the newborn gazelle. The names of the baby lions, which especially attract great attention from children, will be determined by a survey made with citizens who will visit the Natural Life Park.

ŞAHİN: OUR LIONS HAVE BEEN HAPPY WHEN OUR LIONS ARE GOOD CARE AND HAPPY

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin, who made a statement about the new puppies in the promotional program, stated that the Natural Life Park is one of the few natural habitats in Europe and the world. President Fatma Şahin, who said that all opportunities are offered for the lions to live comfortably and healthily, continued her speech as follows:

“All animals are entrusted to us. We need to keep all animals alive and happy here. When the animals are happy, the number of visitors coming here also increases. 5 million people visit this place annually. When lions were presented as a gift during our President's visit to Sudan 4 years ago, they saw this place as the best place to look. The lions were well looked after. Scientists say fertility rates increase when animals are happy. Scientifically, lions have 1 or 2 cubs, but when our lions were well cared for and happy, as we experienced before, they had quadruplets.”

NOW THERE IS ONE MORE REASON TO COME TO GAZIANTEP

In his speech, President Şahin, who mentioned that 350 creatures from 7 species live in happy and well-maintained conditions in the life park, concluded his words with the following words:

“Loving animals and nature is very important to us. We have friends who do this job well. There is a very happy atmosphere here because it feels loved. Now there is one more reason to come to Gaziantep. Those who previously came to see the lions gifted by the President of Sudan will now come to see their children. We will conduct a social media poll for names.”
