The exhibition, which will be opened on Wednesday, May 17 at 17.00 in cooperation with TÜRKSOY at the Near East University İrfan Günsel Congress Center Exhibition Hall, will be attended by Aşık Veysel's grandson Nazender Süzer Gökçe, who are in the collection, Ara Güler, Fikret Otyam, Ozan Sağdıç, Ergün. The tradition of minstrelsy, registered as the “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO, stands out as one of the important parts of the cultural diversity and richness of Anatolia as well as its cultural memory. Undoubtedly, Aşık Veysel is the most important representative of the folk poet and minstrel tradition in Anatolia in our recent history. Aşık Kenzi is one of the most important poets who have kept this tradition alive in Cyprus.

These two masters of the minstrel tradition will be commemorated with events to be organized in cooperation with the Near East University and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) on May 17. With the participation of President Ersin Tatar, the photography exhibition “Aşık Veysel in the Press and Through the Lens of the Masters” will be opened at the Near East University İrfan Günsel Congress Center Exhibition Hall on Wednesday, May 17 at 17.00, and will bring together the hitherto unknown photographs of Aşık Veysel with art lovers. The photography exhibition of works by Aşık Veysel's grandson Nazender Süzer Gökçe and Gürsel Gökçe will be open to visitors free of charge until 26 May.

Within the scope of the events to be organized in cooperation with Near East University, University of Kyrenia, UNESCO and TÜRKSOY, the panels "Aşık Veysel and the Tradition of Minstrel in Anatolia" and "Aşık Kenzi and the Tradition of Aşık Veysel in Cyprus", and the "Voice of Cyprus Folk Songs and Aşık Veysel Poems" event will be held. .

In the panel "Aşık Veysel and the Tradition of Minstrelsy in Anatolia", UNESCO Turkey National Commission President Prof. Dr. Öcal Oğuz, from UNESCO Türkiye National Commission, Prof. Dr. Metin Ekici and Prof. Dr. Ali Duymaz, Assoc. Dr. Dilek Türkyılmaz and Aşık Veysel's granddaughter Nazender Süzer Gökçe will take place as speakers.
