68 Kilos of Human Hair Seized at Sabiha Gökçen Airport

In the operation carried out at Sabiha Gökçen Airport by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce, real human hair weighing 68 kilograms was seized.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, a foreign national passenger was followed within the scope of the works carried out by the teams of the Istanbul Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate and the Sabiha Gökçen Customs Directorate teams at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

The belongings of the passenger who came with the plane on the Tehran-Istanbul flight were subjected to x-ray scanning and checked just before they were sent to the passenger lounge. The teams, who acted upon the suspicious density in the luggage, followed the person closely.

Conservation teams, who watched the movements of the suspect from moment to moment, examined whether the suspect was connected with other passengers. As a result of close follow-up and investigations, 3 more persons were identified who were acting with the suspect passenger. Suspicious persons, who came to the passenger lounge after completing their passport procedures, took their luggage from the tape and headed towards the exit, unaware that they were being followed. At this stage, the teams intervened and the passengers were directed to the luggage control.

Personal belongings were x-rayed again in the passenger lounge and then subjected to physical search. As a result of the search, it was seen that there were hundreds of real human hair in 4 bags belonging to 10 suspects. As a result of the operation, 68 strands of human hair with a total weight of 450 kilograms were seized, and it was determined that the hair was worth approximately 1 million 600 thousand liras.

While real human hair seized in the operation was seized, an investigation was launched before the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office about the persons involved in the incident.
