Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu evaluated the “Turkish Electronic Communications Industry Quarterly Market Data Report” for the fourth quarter of 2022. He stated that the sales revenues of the operators operating in the sector reached 3 billion TL in 2022 with an increase of 40.7 compared to the previous year. Karaismailoğlu stated that the investments of all operators in the sector increased by 130 percent compared to the previous year and exceeded 42.7 billion TL.
TOTAL NUMBER OF MOBILE NUMBER PORTED EXCEEDS 167.2 MILLION
Underlining that the number of mobile subscribers reached 2022 million by the end of 90,3, Karaismailoğlu said:
“Mobile subscriber prevalence was 105,9 percent. 82,9 million of mobile subscribers preferred the 2016G subscription, which started service in 4,5. 4,5G service accounted for 91,8 percent of total subscribers. The number of M2M subscribers reached 8,1 million, showing an annual growth of 8,7 percent. As of the end of 2022, the total number of mobile numbers ported exceeded 167,2 million. The number of mobile numbers ported in 2022 approached 9,6 million.”
NUMBER OF FIBER INTERNET SUBSCRIBERS INCREASED TO 5.7 MILLION
Referring to the number of internet subscribers, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu stated that the total number of broadband internet subscribers, 71,7 million of which is mobile, increased by 2.5 million in one year to 90,6 million. Karaismailoğlu stated that fiber infrastructure reached 9,8 thousand kilometers with an increase of 517.3 percent, and that the number of fiber internet subscribers increased to 17.8 million with an increase of 5.7 percent. Karaismailoğlu said, “While the average monthly data usage of fixed broadband subscribers was 2021 GByte in the last quarter of 204, this figure increased to 2022 GByte in the last quarter of 243. In the whole of 2021, we used 11 billion 14,8 million Gbytes of internet.
Karaismailoğlu stated that 319.6 percent of the total 98,5 billion minutes of traffic was started from mobile networks, and emphasized that as of the last quarter of the year, the average monthly usage time in mobile networks was 549 minutes.
