Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which came to the region right after the earthquake disaster affecting 11 provinces centered in Kahramanmaraş, continues to create container cities. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, who visited the container city of 200 houses under construction in Hatay Antakya Disaster Coordination Center Tunç Soyer, received information about the work from the center responsible. President Soyer, who examined the 53 completed containers and the containers under construction, stated that they wanted to open the container city to earthquake victims until the Ramadan Feast and called on the people of İzmir to supply goods such as furniture, air conditioners, and water heaters through the Movement of Hope.
Soyer: “I want to appeal to the great conscience of the people of Izmir”
President Tunç Soyer, “We are in Hatay, we are in the containers that İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Department of Science Affairs has completed the assembly. It is mostly ready for settlement, but we have a shortage of furnishings and furniture. That's why I want to appeal to the great conscience of the people of Izmir. There is a need for many materials such as bedsteads, beds, nightstands, cabinets. Especially the water heater and air conditioner are seen as one of the most basic needs in summer and winter months. We aim to complete these as soon as possible and to finish them before the holiday. If the people of Izmir want to give a holiday gift to the earthquake victims, they can contribute to the goods of our containers. “Doing it on site brought advantage”
Stating that the container assembly works continue, President Soyer said, “The assembly of 16 containers is about to be completed here. My friends are working with enthusiasm to end these as soon as possible. I congratulate them all. We have produced a study on container manufacturing that will set an example for Turkey. It was sent from Izmir in panels and made to be assembled here. Doing it in place has brought a lot of advantages. While only 2 containers can be transported with a truck, we have had the opportunity to ship 15, 16, 17 containers with a truck. Our production has become faster and can be offered to the citizens more quickly," he said.
