Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Bursa Autism Association and 'Vos Garage 16' group drew attention to autism with the awareness convoy traditionalized on Autism Awareness Day. Children with autism and their families took a city tour in Bursa with decorated vosvos.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, which realized different activities with the aim of drawing attention to autism and raising social awareness on this issue due to World Autism Awareness Day, contributed to the city tour event organized in cooperation with Bursa Autism Association and Vos Garage 16 group. Within the framework of the event, Vosvos enthusiasts from Bursa, Balıkesir and Istanbul with their colorful vehicles met with children with autism and their families at Beşevler Square. Vosvos enthusiasts who decorated their vehicles took a city tour with the children with autism and their families.
Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Fethi Yıldız, who participated in the event, said, “We organized such an event to raise awareness together with our Social Services Department, the disabled branch directorate. Mothers suffer the most in autism. We stand with people with autism. We are with them not just one day, but every day. I would like to thank everyone who contributed,” he said.
Bursa Autism Association President Emel Kanberoğlu said, “Today, April 2, is World Autism Awareness Day. We aim to draw attention to autism with our event, which we make traditional every year. There are hundreds of families who cannot leave their homes. They are imprisoned at home so that the peace of the society is not disturbed. The more the society accepts it, the more comfortable we will be as families.”
