After Çambaşı Ski Center, Turkey's largest ski resort will be built on Göndeliç Mountain, at an altitude of 2 in Ordu.
The ski facility to be established on Göndeliç Mountain, which borders the Mesudiye district of Kabadüz district, is preparing to become the largest ski facility in the country in terms of area and capacity.
Metropolitan Mayor Dr. Under the leadership of Mehmet Hilmi Güler, the 2nd tourism zone is being established in Çambaşı Plateau for the developing winter sports, mountain, nature and highland tourism in Ordu.
It is foreseen that Çambaşı Ski Center will not meet the increasing demands in the future, and the new facility needed is being implemented on Göndeliç Mountain at an altitude of 2 in Kabadüz district.
Emphasizing that Çambaşı Plateau, which is 58 kilometers away from Altınordu district, which is the city center, has natural beauty and features that are unmatched for tourism both in summer and winter, Güler pointed out that the ski resort on the plateau makes it a more attractive place.
For the new facility, which is 10 km away from Çambaşı Ski Center and will be a continuation of this facility, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality applied to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and received a report on the suitability of Göndeliç Mountain for ski tourism.
“TOGETHER IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT”
Providing information about the project work, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said that in addition to Çambaşı, Göndeliç Hill will be turned into a tourism area.
Adding that the snow retention period and the capacity to host guests are higher in Göndeliç, President Güler said:
“Especially in winter tourism, we are making Göndeliç Hill a tourism area in addition to Çambaşı. What's the difference? While there will be 2.5 and 3 months snowy season in other areas, this will exceed 5 months and even reach 6 months in Göndeliç. There is no need to make artificial snow and at the same time, we will have hosted 4 thousand people here, while we hosted 30 thousand people in Çambaşı before. The new tracks will become completely different with new areas.”
“GÖNDELİÇ WILL BE A ATTRACTION CENTER LIKE INSBURG”
Stating that they aim to make Göndelic a center of attraction like İnsburg, with the works to be done, President Güler said, “My goal here is to make this place a center of attraction just like Austrian İnsburg. The good thing is that there are 14 thousand Army soldiers in İnsburg. In other words, they both have experience with such a place and know the conditions here. We haven't used our own resources enough. Now we are making this an important center of attraction. We have obtained the necessary permissions with our work on this, and now we are completing our deficiencies. This place will become a tourism center on its own," he said.
“IN ORDU, SEA, SKI AND HIGHLAND WILL EXPERIENCE THE PLEASURE TOGETHER”
President Güler also talked about the tourism advantages of Ordu and said, “Göndelic is once 700 meters higher than Çambaşı. It has a snowy period that exceeds 5 months because the snowy period is at least double. Therefore, Ordu has a completely different advantage, such as Palandoken, Erciyes, Uludağ. In our superiority, the airport closest to the sea and the ski center closest to the sea are also very important with this identity. In other words, when the guests come, they will enjoy both the sea and the plateau and skiing. In this respect, we are making Ordu a very important center of attraction in tourism with intensive work. You can already see the beauties, it's green everywhere, and naturally, since we started the green economy, naturally, everything is here," he said.
