With the cooperation of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, MUSIAD Konya Branch and Konya Chamber of Industry, the foundation of the Konya Bedesten, consisting of 152 shops, was laid in Hatay Narlıca.

MUSIAD Konya Branch President Mehmet Hilmi Kağnıcı stated that they are carrying out such a work to revive the commercial life of the city and said, “We had to take a new action to accelerate trade and to improve conditions as soon as possible. With the guidance of our Honorable Governor, with the approval of our President, with the infrastructure assistance of our Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, and with the support of our Chamber of Industry, we started to work on establishing a bedesten consisting of 152 shops. As you can see today we have completed two blocks. We will have built a total of 152 shops. We will do this in a short time like 10-15 days. We are trying to create a covered area of approximately 20 square meters and consists of 40 square meters of shops.”
“MAY GOD PROTECT OUR NATION FROM ALL DISASTERS”
MUSIAD President Mahmut Asmalı pointed out that Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay almost rebuilt the infrastructure of the city from the first moment of the earthquake, and said, “Today, we are together at the groundbreaking ceremony of a beautiful covered bazaar at the point of reviving trade. May Allah protect our nation from all disasters. As MUSIAD, we have continued to give our attention and support to these areas since the first moment of the earthquake, as many non-governmental organizations helped, and we will continue to do so from now on.”

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay pointed out that as Konya, they have been carrying out very important activities especially in Hatay from the first moment of the earthquake. Mayor Altay said, “Our Konya Metropolitan Municipality, district municipalities, chambers, stock exchanges, we started search and rescue activities first. Then we continued with humanitarian aid. We are currently working on the infrastructure. Since the first moment of the earthquake, our MUSIAD Konya Branch has shown great sacrifice, dedication and success, especially in organizing aid activities. We would like to thank everyone who contributed in the person of our president. Now we continue infrastructure activities under the leadership of Konya Metropolitan Municipality. On the one hand, we are building container cities together with our Chamber of Industry, Stock Exchange, Chamber of Commerce, Karatay, Meram and Selçuklu municipalities. Here, we are in an activity that will revive the commercial life of the city, especially with the support of MUSIAD. I would like to thank our President of MUSIAD, our Konya Branch, the management of Konya Chamber of Industry and our president. As Konya, we act as a whole to heal the wounds. Deputy Minister of National Defense Şuay Alpay emphasized that an exemplary work was carried out in Hatay and congratulated those who contributed. Alpay said, “I hope we will experience good things together in a short time. It will be possible to heal the wounds of the earthquake, return to normal and embrace life. I hope this place will set an example as a prototype and I hope it will continue. I heartily congratulate all my friends, brothers and sisters for their hard work. God bless you. Burdur Governor Ali Arslantaş, who is the coordinator governor in Hatay, also wished that the covered bazaar, which will make an important contribution to the tradesmen affected by the earthquake, will be beneficial. Governor Aslantaş said, “We have 13 thousand tradesmen who were affected by the earthquake. We have small businesses. Here, too, we will accommodate about one percent. We even received applications from here. There are about 700 applicants for this place. We're going to start drawing lots of them, too. I would like to thank everyone who contributed,” he said.
After the speeches, the foundation of the bazaar was laid with prayers.
BICYCLE GIFT TO ORPHANS
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay later attended the bicycle distribution ceremony organized by MUSIAD Konya Branch in the Yayladağı District of Hatay. The children were delighted at the ceremony where 79 students studying at Bayır Bucak Orphans Protection Association were presented with bicycles.
