Vikings: Valhalla season 3 is coming

When the first eight-episode season premiered in February 2022, it was clear that 24 episodes would be split. one third. Netflix did not reveal the fate of the series after the third season.
Although it was already known, Netflix announced again on Thursday, February 16, that the series was renewed. Check out the tweet below with a fun video:

We also recognize a new character joining the cast of season 3, that is Goran Visnjic. Let's talk about it!
Who will play Plum Red in Vikings: Valhalla season 3?
In case you haven't heard the news, Netflix announced it as an emergency room and Timeless veteran in June 2022. Goran visnjic Vikings: Valhalla joins season 3 as Leif Eriksson and Freydís Eiríksdóttir's father, Erik the Red. Deadline calls the cast a "multi-year arc," suggesting that Visnjic will stay on board should the series be renewed for later seasons.

Vikings: Valhalla season 3 filming?
According to What's on Netflix, filming for Vikings: Valhalla season 3 began in May 2022, and filming continued throughout the summer. The production timeline has not been confirmed by Netflix, but filming may have been completed long before season 2 aired in January 2023. It's worth noting that Suter and Corlett are still wearing their character's signature long hair at the season 2022 premiere in December 2. But now that it's 2023, we're pretty sure filming is over.
Vikings: Valhalla season 3 release date announced?
Contrary to what you will read online, Netflix did not reveal the release date of Vikings: Valhalla season 3. Fortunately, we know Vikings: Valhalla season 3 is coming in 2024. Netflix has confirmed this so far. Since production has already wrapped up the 2022 season, we expect the season to air in early 2024.
Frankly, this is a long time to wait for new episodes, but it's good that Netflix is taking a break and not throwing new episodes out there. It will shorten the wait time between season 3 and season 4 and possibly future seasons as well. It looks like there could be up to three more Vikings: Valhalla seasons in the works on Netflix.
Release Forecast: January 2024
How many Vikings: Valhalla seasons will there be?
Showrunner Jeb Stuart told Collider that he's thinking of seasons in blocks, so they've done the first three seasons and now he's considering making seasons 4, 5 and 6 of Vikings: Valhalla.
“We really talked about one, two, and three as a kind of block, and then hopefully we can get to four, five and six because the story… I think you'll see it when you see Season 2 and Season 3. Almost like a novel. In terms of certain characters this has great time jumps and growth. And like a really big, great novel, it has a few subplots that hold things you don't really feel. They're like leitmotifs that you can't really see but suddenly feel them there."
Netflix has yet to announce Vikings: Valhalla season 4, but it seems pretty clear that if viewership continues, this series could fill a huge void on Netflix and remain popular for years to come. Netflix won't want to give up on that show!
