Aiming to make urban traffic more sustainable with its investments in transportation, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality has completed the Turgut Özal Bridge Replication and Road Construction Project, which it has planned in Çayırova district in this context.

By constructing an additional bridge to the Turgut Özal Bridge, which is one of the key points of Çayırova and cannot handle the traffic load in its current state, the Metropolitan struck the traffic problem here, thus preventing the accumulation of vehicles on the bridge.

ENTRANCE AND EXIT TO ÇAYIROVA IS RELAXED

With the investments made by the Metropolitan Municipality, an important problem in the city traffic, which is breathing, has disappeared. Accordingly, the 'Turgut Özal Bridge Replication and Road Construction Project', which will ease the entrances and exits to Çayırova district via the TEM Connection road, has been completed. With the completion of the project, vehicle waiting on the bridge was prevented and a rapid traffic flow was ensured. 2 thousand 195 meters of 2×2 divided road, 284 meters of 1×1 road, 64.70 meters long and 10.75 meters wide span bridges were built in the “Turgut Özal Bridge Replication and Road Construction” work, which is planned as two lanes. In the construction of the project, 673,5 cubic meters of concrete, 175 tons of rebar and approximately 5 thousand tons of abrasion asphalt were used.

3 STREET TURNED INTO 2×2 ROADS

Within the scope of the project, the road separating the Istanbul-Kocaeli provincial border was crossed over the highway with a new additional bridge and reconnected to Turgut Özal Street. Within the scope of the project, the existing streets, Turgut Özal, Tuna Namık Kemal Street, connection roads and intersections were renewed and turned into 2×2 roads. With the completion of the project, entrances and exits to Çayırova district have gained comfortable and safer transportation.
