STM ThinkTech, Turkey's first technology-focused think tank, developed the NATO Crisis Management Exercise with the "Integrated Elasticity Model" developed to support NATO's decision-making processes in the face of strategic shocks such as pandemics, various disasters, cyber attacks, power cuts and large-scale human movements. joins the. In the exercise, the situation and mutual interaction of civil and military capabilities will be analyzed in case of natural disasters such as earthquakes.

STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., which has signed critical projects and solutions in the fields of engineering, technology and consultancy, continues to support NATO with the decision support systems it has developed.

STM ThinkTech participates online in the NATO-wide Crisis Management Exercise (CMX), which will be held between 9-15 March 2023, with the elasticity model it has developed and its consultancy service on the use of the model. The Aggregated Resilience Model, developed by STM ThinkTech, will be used in the analyzes and evaluations to be made at NATO European Allied Forces High Headquarters (SHAPE) regarding the readiness levels of civilian facilities and capabilities and the support they can provide to military elements, in accordance with the exercise scenario.

Smiling: We Will Continue to Bring Turkish Solutions to NATO

STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz stated that as STM, they have been carrying out various engineering projects in NATO for years and that STM's NATO experience goes back many years. Reminding that STM ThinkTech has made 6 different exports to NATO in the field of decision support systems, Güleryüz said:

“The Integrated Elasticity Decision Support Model we have delivered to NATO plays an important role in NATO's training and exercises. Our model; While providing strategic decision support to NATO, it facilitates the decision-making processes of the authorities regarding the steps to be taken and the measures they can take. This model, signed by our engineers and experts, will now be used in the Crisis Management Exercise, one of NATO's top annual planned exercises.

In the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes, STM ThinkTech will take an active part in the exercise, where the status of civil infrastructure, facilities and capabilities and their potential to support military operations will be analyzed. We will continue to carry the solutions developed by Turkish engineers to the headquarters and exercises of an international military organization like NATO.”

STM Simplifies NATO's Decision-Making Process with its Integrated Elasticity Model

Integrated Resilience Model; It was developed using the systems thinking approach and system dynamics method in order to support NATO's decision-making processes in situations where strategic shocks such as pandemics, various natural disasters, power cuts, cyber attacks and large-scale human movements occur. In addition to the effects of strategic shocks and the critical changes they will create in the model; The possible consequences for civil and military systems are analyzed. In the developed model, the final effects and possible risks of shock types on different infrastructures such as energy, transportation, communication and communication can be analyzed on a scenario-based basis.

NATO Crisis Management Exercise

NATO Crisis Management Exercise (CMX) is organized by NATO in a generic scenario, in line with the decisions taken at NATO Heads of State and Government Summits, in order to improve NATO's core missions of “Common Defense” and “Crisis Management” capability. Civil and military personnel in the capitals of NATO member countries, NATO Headquarters and strategic commands participate in the exercise in question.
