The renovation works initiated by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality on the Mollaköy Bridge, which provides crossings over the Sakarya River, have come to an end. Earthquake wedge and prefabricated beam assembly were completed in the operations performed on the bridge, which was deformed over time.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality is renewing the bridges and roads in the neighborhood crossings, which are under its responsibility throughout the city. Renovating and reinforcing many bridges in the countryside and in the center, the Metropolitan has also taken an important step for the bridge that has been causing problems for years in Mollaköy.

The body and foot connections of the bridge, which crosses the Sakarya River, provides transportation between the neighborhood and the city center and is therefore an important route, were damaged. The bridge's connection with the water was cut off and the deformed bridge pier was removed. The ground was cleaned and bored piles were applied for the bridge to serve for many years in a healthy way. After the bored pile application, the iron reinforcements of the new bridge pier were manufactured and the concrete bridge pier was completed.

After the assembly of prefabricated beams and earthquake wedges on the bridge, which will provide healthy and safe transportation for many years, 70 percent of the project has been completed. After these operations, the bridge will become a strong structure that will serve the region for many years. Mollaköy Bridge, which will become resistant to heavy vehicle traffic, natural disasters, water flow and flow force, will now offer a safer transportation opportunity.

Concrete floor will be poured

On the upper part of the bridge, where vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be provided, concreting work will be carried out by forming iron reinforcement on the beams. Pedestrian and vehicle safety will be ensured by making car guards and pedestrian guardrails between the vehicles and the pedestrian path of the bridge. After the hot asphalt paving process, which is the last process, the bridge will be opened to vehicle and pedestrian traffic and will be offered to the people of the region.
