Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu stated that they will make the cities affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and Hatay much better than before. Minister Karaismailoğlu, who said that while reviving the regions, they will also develop their transportation infrastructure, emphasized that there are dozens of ongoing projects in the region and that they will finish them as soon as possible, and noted that the airport infrastructures have been completed to a great extent.
Informing that they will make important railway investments in the region, Karaismailoğlu said, “We will finish our Mersin-Osmaniye-Adana-Gaziantep railway line, which is under construction, at the end of 2024. When we finish this, a citizen who takes the high-speed train from Istanbul or Edirne will be able to reach Gaziantep without interruption. It will be possible to travel from Istanbul to Gaziantep in about 8 hours. Likewise, we will open the Ankara-Sivas line in the coming days. When it's finished, we'll extend it to Kars. In the same way, we will send it from Sivas to Malatya and Elazig. When we finish the Mersin-Gaziantep line, we will extend it to Şanlıurfa. We will bring it from Habur and tie it to our border.” he said.
