After the earthquake disasters that shook Turkey, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, which is also interested in the health of the earthquake victims in Hatay, sent a Mobile Glasses vehicle to the region this time after the Mobile Dental Diagnosis and Treatment Vehicle. The vehicle, which was implemented with the cooperation of Konya Chamber of Opticians and Opticians, started to serve earthquake victims in Hatay.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality, together with municipalities and non-governmental organizations in Konya, continues to work to heal the wounds of the earthquake in Hatay.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that they are working hard not to leave the earthquake victims alone in Hatay, where the earthquake disasters that occurred on February 6 caused heavy destruction.
Noting that they have been working to meet all kinds of human needs such as infrastructure, logistics, water works, mobile kitchens, communication and energy supply from the first day, Mayor Altay said, “We are meeting another important need of the region. After our Mobile Dental Diagnosis and Treatment Vehicle, which we launched together with the Konya Chamber of Dentists, our Mobile Glasses vehicle started to serve in the earthquake zone. May our service, which we have implemented together with our Konya Chamber of Opticians and Opticians, be beneficial.”
Mehmet Soylu, Secretary General of Konya Chamber of Opticians and Opticians, said, “We contacted our Metropolitan Mayor. They told us that there is such a deficiency here. Thankfully, our president helped us. He allocated the vehicle to us, made the interior furnishings. We also collected glasses and glasses. All our colleagues have made a great contribution. Everyone gave something. We matured the car and came here. Although it was a very short time, we gave 60-70 glasses. People really suffer, we fix broken glasses, we give new glasses. We are trying to serve Hatay in this way,” he said.
The residents of Hatay, who benefited from the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mobile Glasses Vehicle, stated that they were happy to have new glasses and thanked those who contributed.
