Hosting a European Cup series 15 years later, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality received a passing grade from the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation for EUROCUP 2.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which organized its first international organization in wheelchair basketball by hosting the Andre Vergauwen Cup in 2008, hosted another European Cup series after 15 years and received full marks from the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). Group A matches of EUROCUP 10, one of Europe's most important cups in wheelchair basketball, were played on 11-2023 March 2 at Celal Sports Hall, hosted by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. In addition to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club, Fenerbahçe Göksel Çelik and France's Meylan Grenoble Handibasket, Poland's Orto-Medico Scyzory Kielce teams competed fiercely on 10-11 March.

Fenerbahce became the group leader

In the EUROCUP 2 Group A first match, Fenerbahçe Göksel Çelik defeated İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club 69-56 and became the group winner. With this result, Fenerbahçe qualified for the EUROCUP 2 finals in Spain, and İzmir BBSK, which came second, qualified for the EUROCUP 27 final group to be held in Yalova on April 30-3.
