Izmir Journalists Association organized a panel for those who want to manage their high-traffic websites and increase their alternative income sources according to the new press law. The panel, where the future of internet news sites and the independent income source models of the sites were discussed, was held at the İzmir Journalists Association International Press Center.

With the additional articles brought into the newly enacted Press Law, internet news sites will be evaluated within the scope of periodicals, and a new process will begin. According to the law that will be valid from the first day of April, periodicals will now have the right to receive official announcements and advertisements as 'Digital Media'. The panel organized to find answers to the questions in mind about the subject, Dokuz Eylül Newspaper Consultant. Levent Özen was moderated. The opening speech of the panel was made by Dilek Gappi, President of İzmir Journalists' Association.

In her speech, İzmir Journalists Association President Dilek Gappi said: “In addition to our struggle for accurate reporting and independent journalism, we have to get used to another journalism based on algorithms. The media, which has been trying to make the concept of being the gatekeeper of the society with traditional journalism for years, now has to be written with the codes of digital media. We are in a world where information is competing at an unbelievable speed. Mind mapping data will appear soon. Although it seems that there is still a process for this, areas where digital development is mandatory have started to appear. As of April 1, the new regulation of the Press Advertisement Agency and the support of internet news sites in this context are in the process. Those who have perceived the process mostly with the financial pool of the Press Advertisement Agency are about to hit a big wall. In summary, the concept of media engineering will form the infrastructure of digital journalism.” IGC President Gappi stated that he is happy to have Reha Başoğul, one of the pioneers of digital operations in Turkey, and Üsame Tiryaki, one of the directors of Adhouse Reklam, one of the important names in digital advertising, at this event.

Sözcü Journalists in İzmir showed great interest in the panel, which continued with the narration of Reha Başoğul, the director of the newspaper, and Üsame Tiryaki from Adhouse Reklam's firm. After the lecture, journalists asked questions about digitalized media.
