11 baby monkeys were seized in the operation carried out at the Gürbulak Customs Gate by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce.
According to the statement made by the Ministry, while the Customs Enforcement teams were checking the passenger bus that came to Gürbulak customs area to enter Turkey from Iran, they realized that there were noises coming from the two baskets in the trunk of the vehicle.
Suspecting the situation in question, the teams, who carried out a detailed examination, saw that there were baby monkeys in the baskets. After the pups were taken to a safe area by the teams, they were handed over to the Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate.
The first care and feeding of monkeys brought illegally was done by Customs Enforcement teams. The investigation into the incident continues before the Doğubayazıt Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
