Fire Breaks Out in Sultan Abdulhamid Han Hospital 1 Dead

The Istanbul Governor's Office announced that an intensive care patient, who was in serious condition, died in the fire that broke out in the Surgical Block of the Istanbul Sultan Abdulhamit Han Training and Research Hospital.

The written statement made by the Governor's Office is as follows: “A sudden fire broke out for an unknown reason in the Surgical Block of Istanbul Sultan Abdulhamit Han Training and Research Hospital at around 02.50 tonight. The fire, which started on the sixth floor where the operating rooms are located, was immediately intervened by the firefighters. A total of 15 patients treated in other services, including 109 patients in critical condition in the Intensive Care Service, were transferred to nearby hospitals as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, one of our intensive care patients, who was in a serious condition, unfortunately passed away. During the response to the fire, which was extinguished by the fire brigade, 4 personnel, including 6 health and 10 firefighters, were treated and taken under surveillance. A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated on the subject. May God have mercy on our deceased citizen, we express our condolences to his relatives.
