China's National Bureau of Statistics released data on the country's coal and natural gas production. According to the latest figures, crude coal production in the country recorded a steady increase in the first two months of this year. In the said period, the country produced 5,8 million tons of raw coal with an annual increase of 730 percent. The bureau announced that the growth rate was 3,4 percent faster than in December last year. Coal imports amounted to 60,64 million tons in the same period. The total import in 2022 was 290 million.
The country's natural gas production is also experiencing steady growth. According to the bureau, the country produced 6,7 billion cubic meters of natural gas during this period, an increase of 39,8 percent compared to the previous year.
