Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) took action to meet the need for a storage and logistics center in Bursa. Stating that they will create new and modern investment areas for the rapidly developing logistics sector in Bursa, which is at the center of giant transportation projects and hosting large industrial establishments, BTSO Board Member Muhsin Koçaslan said, “We will transport our logistics companies, which are stuck in the city and aggravate the traffic load of the city, to highway and railway. We aim to move it to planned regions in an integrated way.” said.

BTSO continues to keep the pulse of the sectors by bringing companies together with expanded sectoral analysis meetings. The Extended Sectoral Analysis Meeting of the 44th Professional Committee, which includes companies operating in the logistics sector, was held at the BTSO Service Building. BTSO Board Member Muhsin Koçaslan, BTSO Logistics Council President Ersan Keleş, BTSO assembly and committee members attended the meeting, attended by more than 200 industry representatives.

Speaking at the meeting, Muhsin Koçaslan said that they are in deep sorrow due to the disaster that caused great destruction and loss of life in 11 cities of Turkey. Koçaslan said, “The pain of the loss breaks our hearts. However, we have to heal our wounds quickly, and to get our region and country back on their feet. With the earthquake aid collection center we established under the coordination of our Bursa Governorship, we delivered the aid from our members to all regions affected by the earthquake with the great support of our logistics sector. We have witnessed once again the importance of our industry in this difficult process. Our logistics sector played a vital role in the delivery of aid materials from different regions of our country and from all over the world to the region. I would like to thank the valuable representatives of our industry for their unwavering support. I believe that we will get the region back on its feet with unity and solidarity.” he said.

“New Storage Areas Will Be Created”

BTSO Board Member Koçaslan said that they also carry out important studies for the solution of the problems of the logistics industry. Stating that the most important agenda item of the sector is storage areas, Koçaslan said, “We are starting to collect requests for the establishment of storage and logistics areas that the city needs, such as the SME OIZ, which aims to move unplanned industrial facilities in the city to the outside of the city. Hopefully, with the support of our sector representatives, we will implement our project as soon as possible.” used his statements.

“The Importance of the Sector Has Been Experienced Painfully with the Disaster”

BTSO Logistics Council Chairman Ersan Keleş said that they were in great pain due to the earthquake disaster. Keleş said that as soon as they received the news of the earthquake, as BTSO, they established a 'Crisis Desk' under the coordination of Bursa Governorship and AFAD, and said, “We are responsible for collecting and dispatching the in-kind aids that Bursa business world and our people want to send to the earthquake region, including equipment and construction machinery to be used in search and rescue and debris removal activities. we have undertaken. After the control and classification of the aid, we worked hard to deliver the materials effectively with the right vehicles according to the demands coming from the regions under the coordination of AFAD. “Logistics Center Can Reduce City's Traffic Load”

Ersan Keleş announced that they will soon start collecting demand for the 'Bursa Logistics Center and Storage Areas' under the coordination of BTSO. Keleş stated that they identified an important need in the industry at this point and said, “We will announce the application processes for companies that want to be in the logistics center on our website in a short time. We are starting the collection process for the Logistics Center such as SME OSB. We will make a SWOT analysis of the sector. Member information updates are very important in this respect. 'Spatial Planning', expressed by our BTSO Chairman of the Board, Mr. İbrahim Burkay, is a reality of Bursa. Our city and our industry also need a Logistics Center. When our Logistics Center comes to life, we can gather warehouses, cold storage and logistics warehouses, fuel stations, parking areas, container stock areas, commercial offices, commercial areas, accommodation and social equipment areas under the same roof. The Logistics Center is also important for Bursa to be accessible and accessible. If the project is implemented, it will also reduce the traffic load of the city.
