The free internet application that Ankara Metropolitan Municipality launched within the scope of the digital transformation attack attracts great attention. While 73 thousand 662 citizens benefited from the free internet service provided at 736 points throughout the city, 5 million 547 thousand 556 times, more than 2,5 million GB of data was used in total.

The internet service, which is implemented free of charge in city squares, recreation areas, ABB dormitories and parks by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which started digital transformation in the capital, attracts great attention from citizens.

662 thousand 736 citizens benefited from the free internet project, which ABB President Mansur Yavaş described as a basic human right, 5 million 547 thousand 556 times. In addition, more than 2,5 million GB of data was used.

73 POINTS INTERNET ACCESS

Within the scope of smart city applications, ABB's free internet service, which aims to facilitate the lives of citizens and support them economically, provides access from 73 points throughout the city.

There are warning signs for citizens at 73 points in order to access the free Wi-Fi network of the Metropolitan Municipality. In addition, the points with Wi-Fi connection activated via the address “wifi.ankara.bel.tr” can be seen on the map in order for all capital residents, including domestic and foreign tourists, to benefit from this service.

Citizens who want to take advantage of the application must use the Wi-Fi feature of their devices to enter the "Ankara Buyuksehir Wi-Fi" wireless network and become a member by introducing their mobile phone numbers to the system at first use. Citizens can connect to the internet anywhere in the city where the application is valid, with the connection password sent to their mobile phone after the completion of the membership process.
