Survival competitions have always been extremely popular thanks to their high stakes and intense rules. Shows like Survivor and Alone always do well when older seasons are added to Netflix. Outlast season 2 renewal status
Netflix has yet to cancel or renew the survival competition series Outlast. Normally, I'd say a refresh is likely as non-scripted fare is often cheaper to produce than scripted content.
But Outlast is more complex than the traditional Netflix series, as production has to be in the wild for a long time. On the other hand, since the whole point of the show is for the contestants to survive with minimal supplies and whatever they find in the Alaskan wilderness, they can save costs in the long run.
The prize in this show is much more substantial than in some other reality shows where the contestants compete for $1 million. This could affect whether Netflix renews or drops the prize money next season. It all depends on how well Outlast performs. If you want to see another season, I recommend watching it from start to finish, because completion rate is also significantly important to the refresh rates of a series.
