Foreign Trade Volume of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Increased by 86,4 Percent

According to the data announced by the Urumqi Customs Administration, there was a great increase in the foreign trade volume of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in January-February.

In January and February, the import and export volume of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region reached 86,4 billion 44 million yuan with an increase of 390 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. This figure is 87,2 points higher than the national average and ranks first in the country.

Meanwhile, the export volume of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region increased by 91,6 percent, 90,7 points above the country's average, and the import volume increased by 59,8 percent and remained 62,7 points higher than the average level.

Kazakhstan overtook Kyrgyzstan to become the largest trade partner of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The trade volume of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region with Kazakhstan increased by 118,9 percent and constituted 34,9 percent of Xinjiang's foreign trade value.

The foreign trade volume between the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the 5 countries in Central Asia increased by 96,5 percent, taking a 79,2 percent share in the total foreign trade of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. In addition, the volume of foreign trade with the European Union increased by 48,5 percent.

It was also noteworthy that the import and export volume of private enterprises in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region increased by 99,7 percent and constituted 96,2 percent of the total foreign trade volume of the region.
