In the operation carried out in Istanbul by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce, smuggled goods worth 6 million 30 thousand Turkish Liras, which were not declared or tried to be brought to the country illegally by declaring differently than they should be, were seized.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, in the analyzes carried out by the Operations Branch of the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement, 8 containers traded on behalf of an importer company operating in Istanbul were considered to be risky in terms of smuggling. Thereupon, the operation team specially assigned from Ankara took action and was transferred to the port in coordination with the Customs Enforcement teams in Istanbul.

After reaching the Haydarpaşa Customs Area, where customs registration procedures took place, 8 containers that were deemed suspicious were identified by the teams and inspected in detail. The goods in the container were examined step by step, and the quality, type, number and weight of the goods were determined and measured. As a result of the examinations, it was determined that there were many and different types of goods that were declared differently and outside the declaration.

Among the items in question, a total of 90 thousand electric lighting devices, shavers, toys, thermos, battery chargers, extension cords, surge protectors, camera housings, listening devices and headphones, hidden camera, tracking device, speaker assembly, multimedia, It was found that there was a projector and a led module lamp.

Among the items, there are a large number of external listening devices, hidden cameras, etc. Secret tracking devices were seized. While the smuggled goods seized by the teams were confiscated, it was determined that the value of the goods was 6 million 30 thousand Turkish Liras in the calculations.
