The 100 Çanakkale Bridge, which has the title of 'the longest suspension bridge with a middle span in the world' with its 2023-meter middle span, which symbolizes the 1915th anniversary of the Republic, connected the European and Asian continents for the first time in the Dardanelles.

Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, made a statement to TRT Haber before the opening ceremony of the Gallipoli-Eceabat Road, which will provide fast, safe and comfortable transportation to the Gallipoli Historical Site of the Gallipoli Wars.

Minister Karaismailoğlu conveyed the following information regarding the construction of the Bridge, which was put into service on the 107th anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory: “Our Bridge is 1 year old today. The bridge of the greats, the symbols. It's one of the biggest tech jobs in the world. Its height of 318 meters and Seyit Onbaşı's rise to 334 meters with the iconic cannonballs, the span between 2023 legs of 2 meters, its height above the water of 318 meters, again 45 meters on the Anatolian side, 35 meters on the European side, and 80 meters below the water bottom. It is a project in which the ground is strengthened by turning it into a pile field under the bottom of the water level with pile lengths extending up to 370 piles. There are many engineering stories here. The length of our bridge is 4600 meters from coast to coast. In addition, this project includes the 100-kilometer Malkara-Çanakkale Highway. Thanks to this Highway, our road was shortened by 40 kilometers. Journeys that took hours were reduced to just 6 minutes. By doing such a magnificent job, we have completed a very important job that will make extraordinary contributions to the economy, employment, trade, logistics, agriculture and tourism of this Region.”

Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that 2 million 200 thousand of our citizens have used the Bridge so far,
