As a result of the 'shock road search' of the Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarme Command, a large number of mobile phones, electric cigarettes and narcotic drugs were seized. An investigation was launched against 26 persons related to the incident.
According to the information obtained, in the "shock road search" activities carried out between 21-28 March 2023 in Birecik, Ceylanpınar, Siverek and Viranşehir districts for the prevention of smuggling crimes by the teams of the KOM Branch Directorate affiliated to the Şanlıurfa Provincial Gendarmerie Command; 600 gr marijuana, 100 gr methamphetamine, 4120 packs of customs smuggled cigarettes, 172 smuggled mobile phones, 725 smuggled electronic cigarettes, 150 kg of hookah tobacco were seized.
An investigation was launched by the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against 26 suspects caught during the searches.
