Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyervisited the branch of People's Butcher in Bornova Erzene, which brings healthy and affordable meat to the people of Izmir. Stating that prices will not be increased during Ramadan, President Soyer said, “We want to bring our citizens together with meat at reasonable prices. That's why there's the People's Butcher. We will expand it all over Izmir," he said.
People's Grocery Stores, opened by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in different parts of the city to deliver healthy, cheap and reliable food to the public, were renewed with the "People's Butcher" sections. Processed and carcass meat products prepared in Ödemiş Meat Integrated Plant, which is the lifeblood of small producers in rural areas, of İzTarım A.Ş., a metropolitan subsidiary, were offered to the people of İzmir at affordable prices against the increasing inflation. President Tunç SoyerStating that meat has become a product that is difficult to access, “Meat has become a very expensive product. As a public company without concern for commercial profit, this work we continue with IzTarm pays off. On this occasion, we deliver healthy, clean, high quality and cheap meat products to our citizens. It is actually a sad picture, it is not nice that such a thing is happening in Turkey. We took the task out of this situation. We want to offer our citizens at least meat at a reasonable price. That's why there's the People's Butcher. We will spread this all over İzmir. Price assurance, quality assurance, causes the citizens to be in demand. We will continue this price policy throughout Ramadan,” he said.
Onkardeşler: “We plan to open 13 by the end of the year”
Murat Onkardeşler, the General Manager of İzArim, pointed to the queue in front of the People's Butcher and said, “Actually, it is sad that there is this crowd. But on the other hand, it is very pleasing for us to ensure that people have access to meat. We had a slaughterhouse in Ödemiş, we established a further processing facility with a serious investment. Now we are getting a return on that investment. With the perspective of a public company, we aim to contribute to the budgets of our citizens without making a profit. Our citizens are very interested. Not only in terms of price, but also daily fresh meat is transferred from Ödemiş to here. There are 7 People's Groceries, we are opening 3 more this month. We plan to open 13 more by the end of the year,” he said.
People's Butcher, now Menemen Ulukent, Buca ESHOT Gediz Garage, Karşıyaka It provides service in Girne, Konak Kemeraltı Balıkçılar and Gültepe, Bornova Doğanlar and Erzene.
