In the city, which was affected by the earthquakes centered in Pazarcık and Elbistan, which is described as the "disaster of the century", the studies started to solve the housing problem of the citizens continue.

The largest container city in Malatya was established on an area of ​​approximately 200 decares in the garden of İnönü University Technopark.

After the infrastructure works, 2 thousand people have been placed in the temporary accommodation center, where 122 thousand 8 containers have been established.

In addition to insulated containers to accommodate earthquake victims, 2 children's playgrounds, 2 basketball courts, 30 container schools, prayer rooms, laundry, health center, pharmacy, 15 container administrative areas and food tents were set up in the temporary accommodation center.

Thanks to Authorities from Earthquake Victims

Uğur Kılıç, one of the earthquake survivors placed in the container city, said, “Our state is almost mobilized for the earthquake victims. We see all kinds of support.” said.

Kılıç emphasized that the authorities did not leave them alone for a moment after the container settled in the city with his family, and stated that their needs such as television, blankets, heaters and refrigerators were also met.

Kılıç thanked all the authorities for their support since the first day of the earthquake. Emine Tahin stated that 5 people will live in the container and said, “May Allah be pleased with our President. It helps everyone. May Allah help him too.” said.

One of the earthquake survivors, Mustafa Eser, said, “They bring everything and deliver it to us. We are not short of anything. The interest of the authorities is very good towards us.” he said.

Yakup Bayındır, one of the young people playing in the basketball court established in the container city, said, “It is very nice to think of us as well. We were happy. In our spare time, we meet here with our friends and do sports. In this way, we forget the pain of the earthquake for a little bit.” used the phrases.

Burak Beyhan said, “We would like to thank our state for making this place and thinking of us. We are grateful. By doing sports here, we forget about our pain a little bit.” said.
