According to the research of Find My Kids, children in Turkey wait until midnight to play games and use social media applications on their phones. While 49 percent of children play mobile games between 23:00 and 04:00, 60 percent of them use social media applications at the same hours. According to the research, children spend an average of 4,5 hours a day on social media applications and mobile games.
Offering advanced security features while allowing parents to see their children's location live and monitor their activities, Find My Kids examined children's mobile application usage habits. The research was carried out by anonymously evaluating the data belonging to 7 thousand users from Turkey and 18 million from the world, randomly selected among the users of Find My Kids aged 50-1.

Our research adds remarkable dimensions to the debate on this issue. For example, 49 percent of children in Turkey play games on their phones between 23:00 and 04:00 at night. Similarly, 60 percent of children use social media applications on their phones at the same time. It is also remarkable that 7 percent of children use applications that are not suitable for their age group and are over the age of 18. Thanks to the GPS tracking feature of Find My Kids, parents can see the location of their children in real time, and they can also easily examine which application and how much they use on their phones. Maximizing parental control possibilities, our application helps families feel more secure and take appropriate action when necessary, both in the real world and in the virtual world.”
Children are on the phone 4,5 hours a day
According to the data of Find My Kids, a location tracking and activity tracking application for children and families, covering the period since the beginning of 2023, the daily phone usage time of children in Turkey reaches 4,5 hours (270 minutes). Worldwide, this time is 4,7 hours (283 minutes).
Social media and game applications are not missing from the mobile phone
Social media was the most frequently used application category by children in Turkey, followed by mobile games. Children, who spend an average of 66 minutes a day in each of the four social media applications in the top ten, spend an average of 65 minutes per game for mobile games. Social media applications most used by children in our country YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. In game applications, the ranking is Roblox, PUBG Mobile, Brawl Stars, Minecraft and FIFA Mobile. Netflix usage time on mobile phones of children who want to watch movies, series or cartoons reaches an average of 46 minutes per day.

The data obtained from the users of Find My Kids around the world has a similar picture to the one in Turkey. Accordingly, half of the 10 applications most used by children is social media, and the other half is mobile games. In the social media category YouTube, TikTok, Likee, YouTube Kids and Wattpad; In the game category, Roblox, Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact and Call of Duty are among the most used mobile applications.
