With the beginning of Ramadan, inquiries about Eid bonuses increased. Retired holiday bonuses, which are given twice a year, in Ramadan and Sacrifice Feasts, started to come to the fore. Last year, a bonus of 1100 TL was given to the retired on both holidays. So, how much was the 2023 retirement holiday bonus?

How Much is the Retirement Holiday Bonus?

AK Party Group Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş made statements about the holiday bonus of retirees in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). Elitaş announced that the Ramadan and Eid-al-Adha bonuses of retirees are 2 thousand TL.

Some of the headlines from Elitaş's speech are as follows: “There was a situation in the regulations since 2012 due to an institutional error or the person's inability to make the notification on time, we are doing something to fix it. After the press conference, we had a meeting with our President. We expressed to Mr. President whether we will have any savings regarding the holiday bonuses. Our Honorable President stated that 'Share the good news that the holiday bonuses will be 2 thousand liras each with the public' in the bill of law that we will give a little later. In the law proposal we have given, the holiday bonuses are 2 thousand liras for Eid al-Fitr, 2 thousand liras for the Eid al-Adha, and each of our 100 lira bonuses is 900 liras. The total will probably be close to 15 million people, including EYT members.

As soon as the bill is enacted in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and approved by our President and published in the Official Gazette, there will be no pension under 7 thousand 500 liras in Turkey.

  When Will Retired Holiday Bonus Pay?

No official date has been announced yet. Eid-al-Fitr retirement bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts before the feast.

Who Pays the Holiday Bonus?

It is paid to those who receive pension, old-age pension, duty disability pension, invalidity pension, death pension, permanent incapacity income and death income on the date of payment.
