INFORMATION ABOUT THE HISTORICAL HOSPITAL BUILDING:

The hospital, which was put into service with the name 'Canik Hamidiye Hospital' in 1902 and changed to Canik Gureba in 1908, took the name 'Samsun Millet Hospital' in 1924. In 1954, it was transferred to the Ministry of Health and Social Assistance and became Samsun State Hospital. In 1970, the building, which was empty for a while after the hospital was moved, started to serve as the Black Sea Region Mental and Nerve Hospital. In 1980, the title 'Black Sea Region' was abolished and it became Samsun Mental Health and Diseases Hospital. The registered historical building, which was badly damaged in the fire that resulted in the death of a patient in 2007, became idle after the hospital moved to its new service building. The project planned by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which signed a protocol with the Ministry of Health, was approved by the General Directorate of National Real Estate, and then the historical building and area were allocated to the Metropolitan Municipality.
