In the statement made by the Uzbekistan State Railways, it was noted that railway transportation to this country was temporarily suspended as of February 1, due to the Afghan side's failure to fulfill its obligations on technical maintenance works on time.

In the statement, it was reminded that the parties had previously agreed to carry out technical maintenance work on the railway until 1 February 2023.

Reminding that the parties should also sign a new contract for the operation and maintenance of the Hayratan-Mazari Sharif railway, it was stated that road transport will be used to ensure the transportation of goods and products from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan.
