Meal packages for 81 thousand 365 people and over 31 thousand blankets were purchased in two days to be delivered to the region from the address Umuthareketi.izmir.bel.tr, which was opened for the campaign. The total donation amount exceeded 19 million TL.
The support activities initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality after the earthquake, the epicenter of which was Kahramanmaraş, are growing increasingly. The Metropolitan Municipality, which has sent 48 trucks, 46 trucks, 15 planes and 3 ship humanitarian aid to the disaster area in the last 1 hours, is also expanding the Hope Movement with the support of the citizens. The total donation amount in two days reached 19 million 70 thousand 590 liras. With the campaign so far, 81 thousand 395 food packages, 6 thousand 272 food packages, over 6 thousand cleaning packages, 31 thousand 247 blankets, 5 thousand 561 sleeping bags, 3 thousand 920 hygiene packages, 3 thousand 505 boots, 3 thousand 629 coats, 11 tent donation.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer thanking everyone for their support and saying, “We became one heart. We heal Turkey's wounds with the Hope Movement. Aid packages from all over İzmir are collected at Fuar İzmir and sent to those in need. We will continue to increase the donations made by our citizens to the earthquake zone by one-fold,” he said.
