Aegean Exporters' Associations (EIB) brought together 9 importers and agricultural exporters from 30 countries in the “Buyer Delegation Organization” at the AgroExpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, one of the biggest agriculture fairs in Europe, Turkey's largest.

Aegean Exporters' Unions Coordinator President Jak Eskinazi said, “In 2022, in a critical conjuncture where there is a climate of recession and financial crisis in the world and in our country, our agricultural sectors experienced the golden age of their history. While Turkey exported 2022 billion dollars of agricultural products with an increase of 15 percent in 34,2, Aegean Exporters' Associations became the champion of Turkey by performing 17 percent of Turkey's agricultural product exports alone, with an export of 6 billion 727 million dollars with an increase of 19 percent. We are proud to say that our agricultural exports approached 7 billion dollars. As the Aegean Region, the world's agricultural warehouse, we maintained our leadership in 2022. We believe that this positive trend will continue in 2023 as well. We are a strong player in the world in dried fruits, products, olive-olive oil, aquatic products, spices, tobacco, non-wood forest products and organic production. We anticipate that it will reach 10 billion dollars with international fairs such as AgroExpo, which acts as a bridge between Turkish manufacturers and world markets, high technology investments and sustainability vision.” said.

Saying that it is the first Purchasing Delegation Organization of 2, organized under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce for the AgroExpo International Agriculture and Livestock Fair, which is expected to add 2023 billion dollars to Turkish agriculture, Vice President of Aegean Exporters' Associations, President of Aegean Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Exporters' Association Hayrettin Airplane, said: 30 Turkish companies held more than 30 bilateral business meetings at the Buyer's Delegation Organization attended by 200 importers from , Czechia, South Sudan, Croatia, Kosovo, Mongolia, Moldova, Mauritania, and Greece. Exports from the EIB to these 9 countries in 2022 increased by 19 percent to 763 million dollars, while our agricultural exports increased by 17 percent to 230 million dollars. AgroExpo is the right ground to increase our agricultural exports to these countries to 500 million dollars. We will see the positive outputs of our Buying Committee Organization in the upcoming period.” he said.
