Stating that he believes the route will be a new breathing tube to the growing and developing Afyonkarahisar with its easier transportation, President Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “We have increased our road network to 20 thousand kilometers by building approximately 23 thousand kilometers of new roads in the last 29 years. We are not only making high standard divided roads, but also increasing the quality of our other roads. Our aim is to provide easy access by road to every part of the country without exception. Like all our investments, our road projects have many benefits for our country. Our citizens can easily reach their loved ones by using these roads and enjoy their holidays comfortably. Our heavy-duty vehicles arrive at their destinations quickly and without much wear and tear. We accelerated the transportation between the European and Asian continents, first with the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, and then with the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. We pierced the mountains, which are the nightmare of drivers, with tunnels. We combined impassable valleys with viaducts. We crossed the raging waters with bridges. Just using roads, tunnels, viaducts and bridges has become a pleasure in itself.”

We have established safe and comfortable transportation

Pointing out that Afyonkarahisar, which sees the central location of Turkey's important transportation routes, is also an important part of this strategy, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that they have increased the length of the divided road, which was only 20 kilometers 54 years ago, more than 11 times, reaching 592 kilometers in Afyonkarahisar. Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“Today, we are proud and happy to establish a high standard transportation on this important route by opening the 22 kilometers long and 26 meters wide Afyonkarahisar-Şuhut road. With our works, we have turned the entire route, which is 22 kilometers long, which serves as the only road with surface coating, into a divided road with bitumen hot mix coating. We have established safe and comfortable transportation of Şuhut district to the centers in the region, especially Afyonkarahisar. We reduced the 27-minute travel time to 12 minutes. This project will make significant contributions to the socio-economic development of our town and city, whose agricultural and industrial activities are developing day by day. President, for the bright future of Turkey, we will continue to create a storm of works and services with our investments.”

Underlining that they have turned the entire route, which is 22 kilometers long, which serves as the only road with surface coating, into a divided road with bitumen hot mixture coating, Karaismailoğlu added that they have established safe and comfortable transportation of Şuhut district to the centers in the region, especially Afyonkarahisar.
