In the sewing-embroidery course at Bağcılar Municipality Women and Family Culture and Art Center, women sew sleeping bags for citizens affected by the earthquake in 10 provinces in Kahramanmaraş.

After the 7,7 and 7,6 magnitude earthquake in Kahramanmaraş, Bağcılar Municipality continues its aid mobilization with all its units. In this context, there are days with movement in the Women and Family Culture and Art Center within the municipality. Sewing-Embroidery class students are also sewing sleeping bags for earthquake victims. The number of sleeping bags sewn with fabrics supplied by Bağcılar tradesmen exceeded 100 in two days. The sleeping bags, which are expected to reach a thousand in a week, will be sent to the earthquake zone.

Noting that there were severe winter conditions in the region, Mayor of Bağcılar Abdullah Özdemir said, “We are working to do more for our citizens during the earthquake. Our craftsmen and female trainees are also working together to produce winter materials. One of them is the sleeping bag. God bless them all," he said.
