President Yavaş, 'No Child Will Be Educated in Ankara with a hungry stomach, we are here'

The 'canteen support' application, initiated by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality for the children of families receiving social assistance, has started. Families of 14 thousand primary school students living in Altındağ and Mamak, which were selected as the pilot regions in the first stage, were loaded with a support amount of 330 TL to the Başkent Card. ABB President Mansur Yavaş said, “No child in Ankara will receive education on an empty stomach, we are here”.

Continuing its services in line with the understanding of social municipality, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its 'student-friendly' practices without interruption.

ABB started to provide 'canteen support' in order to ensure that the children of Başkent residents who benefit from social assistance, who go to primary school, can eat adequately and healthily in their schools. In project scope; The determined support amount of 330 TL per person was deposited into the Başkent Cards of the families of 14 thousand primary school students living in Altındağ and Mamak, which were selected as the pilot regions in the first place, before the schools were opened.

In the future, it is aimed to expand the application to other districts and reach 60 thousand primary school students.

Announcing that the first payments of the canteen support were made through his social media accounts, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş used the following statements:

“We have good news for our children with the start of schools. We started canteen support of 14 TL per month for our 330 thousand children who go to primary education. No child in Ankara will receive education on a hungry stomach, we are here.”

CAN ONLY BE USED FOR CANTEEN EXPENDITURES

While the support amount deposited in the Capital Cards of the families can be used in the canteen of the child's primary school, the balance will be withdrawn at once by the canteen every month and the child will be given 22 canteen vouchers in return. Thus, families of children will not need to carry their Capital Cards with them every day.

With the canteen support application, both families and canteens will be supported economically, while children will be provided with a healthy and adequate diet during their schooling.
