More than 691 thousand earthquake victims were given psychosocial support

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that a total of 10 thousand 418 students and parents were reached in 88 psychosocial support tents and 691 hospital classrooms in 284 provinces in the earthquake zone.

From the first day of the earthquake, the Ministry of National Education, which has been mobilized with all its units in many topics from search and rescue efforts to shelter, from hot food to providing basic needs, continues its psychosocial support activities in the region.

In this context, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that 418 psychosocial support tents were set up in the provinces in the earthquake zone with the approach of 'continue education under all conditions' and noted that they made great efforts to reduce the effects of negative emotions in both students and parents after the earthquake.

Özer stated that a total of 418 thousand 88 students and parents have been reached so far in 691 psychosocial support tents and 284 hospital classrooms, thanks to the work carried out with the teachers/psychological counselors in charge in his statement on the subject. Stating that 277 thousand 599 of this number consists of parents and 413 thousand 685 students, Özer reminded that on the other hand, an “earthquake psychoeducation program” will be implemented in 71 provinces within the scope of psychosocial support for pre-school, primary, secondary and high school students.
