Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou high-speed rail, located in Fujian province, China's first sea-going high-speed rail line, successfully passed static acceptance tests on Friday, February 3.
The railway line, which will be tested in April for all construction elements, will be opened to traffic this year. Acceptance tests to ensure that the project meets all requirements and needs are carried out by the National Railway Administration.
Construction of the project began in September 2017 and the line has been extended for 277,42 kilometers through major port cities in southeast China's Fujian province, such as Putian, Quanzhou and Xiamen. Crossing three bridges across three bays, Meizhou Bay, Quanzhou Bay and Anhai Bay, the railway line connects Fujian's capital city, Fuzhou, with the historic city of Zhangzhou. With a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the journey from Fuzhou to Xiamen takes less than an hour.
