Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Needs Map launched the “One Rent One Home” campaign after the great earthquake disaster. The campaign aims to bring together citizens who have lost their homes after the earthquake and those who want to give rent support or open their empty houses for use. The solidarity campaign had also ensured that the shelter needs of many citizens were met during the Izmir earthquake on October 30, 2020.
How can I apply for the One Rent One Home campaign?
The solidarity campaign launched on birkirabiryuva.org brings together citizens in need of shelter after the earthquake with benefactors who want to provide them with rent support or open their empty houses for use.
There are three options for users on the website of the campaign, where cash aid is not accepted. Users can request support with the "I Want to Receive Rental Support" button, and they can help those in need with the "I Want to Provide Rental Support" or "I Want to Use My Empty House" button.
Citizens who want to give rent support can participate in the campaign by entering the amount of aid and personal information on the form on the website. Minimum 3-month rental support and multiples can be given. The total rental support amount for 3 months is 10 thousand liras. Homeowners with vacant houses suitable for use can also take their place in the campaign by filling out the declaration about sharing their homes and other requested information.
İzmir provides communication between participants
The technical infrastructure of the campaign, in which the needs requests were collected by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, was created by the Needs Map. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality authorities ensure the communication between the participants so that the support can be delivered directly to those in need.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality works in coordination with other municipalities in the earthquake zone so that the campaign can be fully announced to all those in need.
