'Meeting with IBB Sports Club Star Athletes' Event Held

IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlumet with 2 infrastructure athletes and their families at the 'Meeting with IBB Sports Club Star Athletes' event. Participating in the event as the guest of honor, the founding president of İBB SK, former İBB President Prof. Dr. Nurettin Sözen also expressed his feelings by saying, "After seeing you and the beautiful facility, I am happy to say, 'How well I did, I founded this club'".

In the event held at İBB Cebeci Sports Complex, the founding president of İBB SK, former İBB President Prof. Dr. Nurettin Sözen was also the guest of honor. Reminding that they started the day by opening a sports facility in Sultanbeyli in the morning, İmamoğlu said, “I said this morning as well, let me say it here as well: The biggest chance of my life was that I consciously met with a very special physical education teacher at a young age. I always remember gratefully. That education has been with me my whole life. Sports culture has a special place for me in terms of being an athlete, being able to work together, being a team player, focusing on success but not forgetting sportsmanship, being honest, and acquiring the principles of conducting the competition according to the rules. If I don't say his name from here, he'll be resentful. May God give you health. I convey my greetings and respects to my teacher Haydar Kazaz in Trabzon. On his occasion, I convey my very special greetings to all physical education teachers.”

Noting that sports have a very important place in the healthy progress of societies, İmamoğlu said, “Sports not only makes people physically fit but also mentally fit. Today, it is imperative that we all aim to be a valuable society that benefits from fair competition and sportsmanship. For this reason, it is very valuable for a society that our children get acquainted with sports at an early age, and we work hard for this. healthy society; It is a conscientious, just and high moral society. For this reason, the words of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, 'I like the smart, agile and at the same time moral person of the athlete' should never be forgotten in our memories.

Reiterating their goal of bringing the 2036 Olympics and Paralympic Games to Istanbul, İmamoğlu said, “It is not possible for this city to host the Olympics only with its facilities and sports halls. It is not possible only if a municipality or the government of that country is financially, morally behind it. For a city to be able to hold the Olympics, it is an important starting point for them to have a social awareness of sports. At this point, we aim to create a city in Istanbul where all our people, from 7 to 77 years old, do sports, have an active life and are healthy at the same time. In this respect, we want to be a city with a high awareness of sports and a high interest in all branches. We will be making a great effort. We will not only bring this change to our city, but we will also work hard to hold the world's most beautiful Olympics in this city with our 16 million people. And together we will succeed.” İmamoğlu, the founding president of İBB SK, Prof. He conveyed his special thanks to Sözen for his efforts.

KELES: “WE ARE A CLUB AIMING TO BE AT THE TOP OF WORLD SPORTS”

IMM SK in 1999, the Metropolitan Mayor of the time Prof. Dr. Reminding that it was founded by Nurettin Sözen, Keleş underlined that they are a club with big goals. Pointing out that they are Turkey's largest amateur sports club, Keleş said, “We are a sports club that aims to be at the top of world sports. We aim to be at the top with them, not only at the podiums and at the medal ceremonies, but also with the value we give to our athletes, the opportunities we offer them, and the path we have opened and opened for them.” Stating that they operate in 21 different branches as a club, Keleş said, “With our 187 teams and 3 athletes, we are one of the most important pillars of Istanbul's Olympic journey. We represent our national team in international competitions with our 500 athletes and 249 coaches working in our national teams.

After the speeches, Keleş presented İmamoğlu and Sözen with İBB SK jerseys with the back number 34 on the back. Then, champion athletes of İBB SK were invited to the stage and memories were taken.
