Our metro line; It will pass through Kağıthane, Eyüpsultan and Arnavutköy districts and has a capacity to serve 8 thousand passengers daily with 800 stations. Thanks to the integration of our Metro line, Mecidiyeköy-Mahmutbey Metro Line, it will be possible to reach Istanbul Airport, the world's largest and number one airport and the most important global transfer center in the region, directly, safely, quickly and economically with the entire rail system.

WE ARE BRINGING MORE “FIRST” AND “BEST” TO LIFE WITH ONE OF OUR WORKS

With the opening of the line to Istanbul Airport; Karaismailoğlu noted that it can be reached in 24 minutes from Kağıthane and 12 minutes from Göktürk, and continued his speech as follows:

“This is how easy and comfortable it is to reach our country's door to the world. We carry the satisfaction and pride of bringing the 'best's and 'firsts' to our country once again with one of our works. We are talking about the longest metro in Turkey, which was tendered and built in one go. In order for our line to be put into service as soon as possible, we used 10 tunnel boring machines simultaneously in a metro project for the first time in Turkey. CPC advances; We broke the excavation records with 65,5 meters per day, 306 meters per week and 1233 meters per month. Turkey's fastest metro vehicles with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour will also work on this line. Gayrettepe Station, which is the deepest metro station in Turkey with 72 meters, was also built within the scope of this project. For the first time in Turkish metro lines, we built a perfect railway infrastructure with precast panels here. In this way, we will offer our passengers the opportunity to drive in the comfort of high-speed trains. We are implementing the smart tunnel concept for the first time in the world's subways in this project. Thus, we brought a new technology to tunnel fire safety. With the support of our Ministry and cooperation with Aselsan, for the first time, the signaling system, developed with domestic and national facilities, will be used in this metro line.”

EVERY PROCESS OF OUR METRO LINES IS NATIONAL AND DOMESTIC

Expressing that they are proud of bringing a very important, very valuable project to Istanbul and Turkey with the Kağıthane-Eyüp(Göktürk)-Istanbul Airport Metro Line, Karaismailoğlu said, “With the experiences we have gained here, we are now entering a new era in metro construction and we are guiding the world. Now, every process from the construction phase of our metro lines to the electrification and signaling phase is the product of our own engineering; that is, we produce nationally and locally. From now on, we will implement train signaling and interface works with domestic facilities. We will use vehicles with domestic electrical systems and batteries. We have 10 train sets on this line. In addition to these, we are very proud to be commissioning new train sets with the first domestic metro vehicle engine. The use of domestic and national opportunities, production and products means a country far from foreign dependency. Continuing its efforts and preparations to become a leader in its region and a playmaker in the world, and to take its place among the top 10 economies, Turkey is further strengthening and consolidating its national independence with these breakthroughs. As a ministry that built the infrastructure of Turkey, the Turkish Century, and worked with 5 thousand colleagues at 700 thousand construction sites and service points to carry our nation to its bright future, we will continue to do whatever is necessary under the leadership of our President.

ECONOMIC GAIN OF THE METRO LINE 2,6 BILLION EURO

Underlining that the line was integrated with the Mahmutbey metro and Kağıthane in the first stage, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu stated that they will integrate this line with the metrobus and Hacıosman-Yenikapı Metro Zincirlikuyu Stations in the spring, and they will complete a further 3,5 kilometers and increase the line to 37,5 kilometers. .

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “We have been blessed to once again bring a comfortable, fast and safe transportation service to our country and Istanbul. However; The benefits of this service are as diverse as our other works. These benefits will be more clearly understood when we look at the projection for the years 2023-2043 with the introduction of the Metro Line. In the 20-year projection; The total economic gain of our country will be 45 billion 247 million Euro, including 30 million Euro highway operation and maintenance gain, 2 million Euro environmental gain, 316 million Euro accident and injury gain, 2 billion 639 million Euro time savings.

THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE WILL BLOW ALL AROUND TURKEY

Karaismailoğlu said, “The year 2023 will be a year when we will complete and put into service very important projects and reap the fruits of our determined efforts,” Karaismailoğlu pointed out that a storm of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure will blow all over Turkey, especially in Istanbul. Karaismailoğlu stated that they equipped Istanbul with modern rail system networks from one end to the other in order to make Istanbul one of the cities with the most advanced transportation infrastructure in the world, and stated that they implemented the world's most technological and modern urban rail system projects one by one. Explaining that they are working for Istanbul on 96 lines of approximately 6 kilometers, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition to the Gayrettepe-Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport Metro line; Bakırköy (IDO)-Bahçelievler-Güngören-Bağcılar Kirazlı Metro line, Halkalı- Başakşehir-Arnavutköy-Istanbul Airport Metro line, Başakşehir-Pine and Sakura City Hospital-Kayaşehir Metro Line, Kazlıçeşme - Sirkeci Rail System and Pedestrian Oriented New Generation Transportation Project and Altunizade - Ferah Mahallesi- Çamlıca Mosque - Bosna Boulevard Metro Line projects. By completing these lines, we are increasing the rail system network of Istanbul, which is 284,3 kilometers, to 380,2 kilometers.

Announcing that they will open the Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport metro line on Sunday, January 9, 22, 2023 days later, with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “We offer it to the service of the world, especially to Istanbulites. We are in the happiness and pride of bringing together a giant work and a magnificent service with Istanbul. In addition to our Metros in Istanbul; AKM-Gar-Kızılay Metro in Ankara, in Kayseri; We are opening the Anafartalar-HT Tram Line very soon. If a work, a service is to be presented to the nation, if it is inaugurated, it is done fully. Respect for the nation and political morality require it. Someone has not learned this until now, maybe when they use our projects, they will take an example and learn how the metro line will be put into service. Cities are growing, population is increasing, production, trade and tourism are developing. Of course, at the end of this, the need for solutions that will refresh, facilitate and accelerate transportation also increases. At this point, rail systems such as metro and tram come to the fore. For this reason, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, we are constantly working to bring very important urban rail system projects to our country so that the lives of our citizens living in big cities do not turn into a nightmare and traffic chaos is not experienced.”
