Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club Handball Women's Team defeated Israel's Maccabi Lands Ramat Gan team 33-32 in the EHF European Cup and became one of the last eight teams.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club Handball Women's Team defeated the Israeli team Maccabi Toprakm Ramat Gan on the road after İzmir in the last 16 qualifying round rematch of the EHF European Cup and made its mark in the quarter finals. Metropolitan Municipality won the first match in Izmir 27-20.
The referee duo of Georgiana Murariu-Mihaela Paraschiv from Romania moderated the second leg match at the Ohel Shem Sports Hall. The first half was passed with a 15-14 advantage of the hosts. The second half witnessed a great rivalry and our team managed to win the match with a score of 33-32 and became the side that passed the round.
Ece Sözmen scored 12, Yasemin Özgür 5, Büşra Işıkhan, Ecem Birben and Sibel Kıcıroğlu 4 each, Yeliz Özel 2, Burcu Dindar and İlayda Baktır 1 each.
