Emergency Response from İZSU to Kaklık Stream

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU General Directorate continues its efforts to prevent the negative effects that may be caused by heavy rains throughout the city. In this context, 330 tons of stone was laid so that the coastal cavities formed in the bed of the Kaklık Stream in the Çakırbeyli District of Torbalı do not create a flood risk.

There were cavities in the bed of the Kaklık Stream, which passes through the Torbalı Çakırbeyli District, due to the rains. İZSU teams took action to prevent the risks posed by this situation. A 3-stage study was initiated in areas requiring urgent intervention. After the completion of the 265-meter creek cleaning work, a 100-meter filling work was carried out in the coastal part. The hydraulic flow of the stream was provided by lithography using 330 tons of stone against the coastal carving. The works carried out to prevent possible floods and to prevent the security threat created by the cavities were completed in a short time.
