The bus, metro, Ankaray and cable car belonging to the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) EGO General Directorate carried a total of 2022 million 450 thousand 815 passengers in 521. This figure was 2021 million 294 thousand 720 in 298, the previous year when the effect of the pandemic continued. Accordingly, the increase in the number of passengers in public transportation from 2021 to 2022 was 52 percent.
The vehicle with the highest number of passengers was EGO buses with the number of 310 million 301 thousand 401. In 2022, 105 million 769 thousand 323 passengers used the metro, 33 million 288 thousand 816 passengers in Ankaray and 1 million 455 thousand 981 passengers on the cable car. While December was the month with the most public transportation use, with 48 million 872 thousand 874 passengers, the month with the least public transportation was July with 29 million 356 thousand 426.
