Referring to the fact that 90 of the 77 types of mines in the world are found in Turkey, Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association President İbrahim Alimoğlu said, “0.4 percent of the world's metal mineral reserves, 2.5 percent of industrial raw material reserves, 1.0 percent of coal reserves and 0.8 percent of geothermal potential. we have the We exported 2020 billion dollars in 4,3, 2021 billion dollars in 6, and 2022 billion dollars in 6,5. In addition to exports of 2022 billion dollars in 6,5, as we are a sector that provides raw materials to all sectors of the country's economy, we created a value of 50 billion dollars together with the domestic market, contributing to the country's economy at the rate of 5 percent of GDP. More than 90 percent of the economic size we provide consists of domestic inputs, so the added value is left to our country.” said.

We expect a 2023 percent increase in our mineral exports in 15, our target is to reach 1 billion 400 million dollars. We expect this increase to come primarily from industrial raw materials and metallic ores. The most natural stone export in Turkey is carried out by the Aegean Mineral Exporters' Association. We are one of the sectors that make the most URGE Projects. In this way, we bring our companies the culture of acting together and clustering. We started our UR-GE project, named New Era Natural Stone Marketing and Strategy Development, with our 3 companies, the third of which was organized by our Association, and we completed the needs analysis studies of our companies. In a short time, we will start foreign marketing activities with these companies again.” he said.

With our Mining Sector Board's project, You Are Our Ore scholarship project, students who will receive new scholarships will join us this year as well. In order to increase the export of value-added products, we will organize the 4th AMORF Natural Stone Project and Design Competition, which we think acts as a bridge between the natural stone industry and designers.”

In 2022, we completed our EU project titled “Development of Occupational Health and Safety-Oriented Activities to Prevent Work Accidents and Injuries in the Natural Stone Mining Sector”, financed by the European Union and our Ministry, and carried out together with the Mining Engineering Department of Dokuz Eylul University. Within the scope of our project, we provided Occupational Health and Safety trainings with VR glasses to employers, OHS experts and employees of natural stone companies. With these trainings and workshops we provide, we aim to raise occupational health and safety in the natural stone mining sector to the level of European Union countries and to raise awareness.” said.
