Tuyap Adana Fuarcılık cooperated with the Turkish Publishers Association, Adana Governorship, Adana Metropolitan Municipality and Çukurova Fuarcılık A.Ş. Çukurova 15th Book Fair, which was organized with the support of the public, opened its doors at Tüyap Adana International Fair and Congress Center as of January 14.
The official opening ceremony of Çukurova Book Fair was attended by Adana Governor Süleyman Elban, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar, Turkish Publishers Association General Secretary Nazlı Berivan Ak, Tüyap Fairs Group Chairman Bülent Ünal and Tüyap Fairs Production A.Ş. City protocol attended as well as Deputy General Manager Gökalp Gökdemir. The fair, which opened its doors for the fifteenth time in Adana as of January 14, will continue to contribute positively to the social and cultural development of the region.
“An influx of book lovers is expected to the fair”
Expressing its excitement for bringing readers and publishers together for the 15th time at Çukurova Book Fair, Tüyap Fairs Production A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Gökalp Gökdemir said, “This year, we are preparing Çukurova Book Fair with the participation of more than 300 publishing houses and non-governmental organizations. Our valuable writers will have the opportunity to meet with their readers at 75 cultural events, including panels, interviews, poetry recitals and children's events, and nearly 500 signing days. As Tüyap, we will organize a series of events. In addition, we collaborated with Adana Provincial Directorate of National Education and ÇUFAŞ so that students can visit our fair for 5 days a week. In this way, we will host thousands of our students in our fair area. We would like to express our gratitude to our Provincial Directorate of National Education and ÇUFAŞ for their contribution to this issue. “A tribute to art”
Readers were counting the days to meet the authors they followed with interest. At the Çukurova 15th Book Fair, book lovers will meet with writers and illustrators at cultural events such as talks and panels, which have become the symbols of book fairs, and at the book signing days that they look forward to. Many master names such as Ahmet Ümit, Buket Uzuner, Ataol Behramoğlu, Erol Mütercimler, Miyase Sertbarut, Gülten Dayıoğlu, Mavisel Yener, Yekta Kopan, Mine Söğüt, Saygı Öztürk, Enver Aysever, Adnan Özyalçıner will be with their fans at the fair.
“Plaque presented to publishers”
At the opening ceremony of the fair, a plaque was presented to thank the publishing houses that participated in the Çukurova Book Fair, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Altın Kitaplar, Can Sanat Publishing, Dilaver Publishing, Doğu Batı Publishing, Epsilon Publishing, Beyaz Whale Publishing, İşbank Culture Publishing, Nesin Publishing, Pegem Academy, Yakamoz Publishing, Alfa Publishing Group, Atatürk Research Center, Günışığı Library, Nesil Publishing, Timaş Plaques for his publications and Yapı Kredi Publications were presented to Adana Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban was presented by the Mayor of Adana Metropolitan Municipality Zeydan Karalar and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tüyap Fairs Group Bülent Ünal.
“There will be fair excitement for 9 days”
Visitors and participants will experience the excitement of the fair for nine days. Çukurova 15th Book Fair can be visited from 15 to 21 on January 10.00-20.00, and from 22 to 10.00 on January 19.00, the last day. At the fair, participants operating in the publishing of books, periodicals, newspapers and magazines, media organizations and important non-governmental organizations engaged in broadcasting activities will come together with visitors by exhibiting their products.
