ABB's 'Early Developmental Child Screening Test' Continues

The “Early Period Developmental Screening Test” application, which was initiated with the cooperation of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) and Hacettepe University and which is a first in Turkey, continues.

Home-based individual education programs are prepared for children with developmental delays, and their progress is closely monitored, as a result of face-to-face tests conducted at the center in Sıhhiye by the academicians of Hacettepe University Education Faculty Preschool Education Department.

The project, which started in October 2022 and evaluated the development of children between 6-72 months, reached 1000 children. According to the status of the children who participated in the screening test; Necessary guidance and evaluations were made by experts.

ABB Women and Family Services Department Child Services Branch Coordinator Tuğba Nagehan Turpcu said, “Our developmental screening test continues for children aged 6-72 months in cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality and Hacettepe University. Families who want to apply can apply through our website. Approximately 1000 children have benefited from the screening test, which we started in October. We are receiving intense interest from families and our work will continue in this direction.”

Şeymanur Battal, Research Assistant at Hacettepe University Preschool Department, said:

“The aim of our project is to perform developmental screenings of 6-72 months old children. It is very important to determine the developmental screenings of children in the early stages and to be aware of any possible risk beforehand. Because in the future, when children go to primary school, being able to take precautions beforehand is very valuable in terms of carrying their potential further. For this reason, we aim to conduct developmental screening for the children of all families we can reach.”

Families who benefited from the screening test expressed their satisfaction with the application as follows:
